Any day now, Miss Mollie will become a big sister. Don’t know what to exactly. Yet. We don’t generally “know what we’re having” around here. This gang thinks it’s one the last of Life’s Mysteries, so we just wait, anticipate and are surprised when it’s all said and done!
But the expectant sisters are excited. Three-year old Mollie aka Mols, likes to talk about the anticipated addition to the family. When you talk to her about the new baby, she gets this dreamy look and she whispers a lot. Today almost everything was whispered…and this is the kid who can scream bloody murder and the next county sends troops! I asked her if she’d like a cupcake after her nap…she was all snuggled up in my lap as the sleepiness was hanging on. “No thank you. Just pecans.” Uh, ok. A paper cup of pecans. It was then that she mentioned her mom’s new diaper bag all in one breath. doyouloveit…smile
It seems paper cups are the food receptacle of choice around here. Whether it’s Cheez-Its or pecans or raisins, they all want it in a cup. Easy enough. And of course, always followed by a “please”.
Back to the new baby though…this will be number 11 for Big Boss and me. Kinda hard to believe sometimes! It’s been almost over 3 years since we had a tiny one to pass around and believe me when I say, this bunch loves babies. Well, obviously…but infants in this family rarely have their tiny little bottoms hit a bed….ever. You practically have to draw numbers to get your turn to hold the sweet bundle of joy. Of course as the Grand Poobah Czarina, I always get first dibs. After all, if they ever want to plant their feet under MY table again, they’d better hand the baby over and quick!
So, come Friday…unless something happens before then, the round little mommy will go to the hospital and we’ll have a new family member, rounding us out to a total of 19. But like I told PG mommy, “11 is kind of a crummy number. Don’t you think we should just round it off to a nice even dozen?” She was not amused. Can’t imagine why….
Big Sister practicing diapering Baby Doll. She has NO idea her world is on the brink of changing. Big time!!

That is the prettiest little girl. And I must say that she does look like her Grandma!
Thanks Suz! Her personality equals the “pretty”!
I totally agree with Suz! She is a little doll and DOES look like Queenie!
Well at least she doesn’t frown in the sun like I always did. Put all my childhood pics together and you get one big squint!!
“Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.” Psalm 127
Congratulations, Grandmawmie! Praying all goes well.
I’ve always loved that scripture! Thanks for the prayers.
Love both photos so much, but the one of the tractor should be on the cover of some Ag or gardening magazine! It is precious!
I’ve taken about all of the grands on that tractor. Would you believe while going thru some pics of our boys, I found one of the oldest on the same tractor AND one of his dad on the tractor! Too good!!
What a treasure! We have some same pose pics in our family too and they mean to much and are such fun.
She’s a pistol!
