So, we’ve talked about Chihuly’s blown glass art, as featured here. One of these days, I WILL get to see his displays at the Dallas Arboretum!?
And textile art has been discussed several times on this blog: here, here and here . No quilting here lately, just procrastinating thinking about it.
Oh and here! argh and HERE!
I guess crochet would technically fall until the “textile” category, but here is a good example of crochet art! This here is one art form I’ve tried and failed…miserably! Not kidding.
On the same note, scrapbooking would fall in to “textiles” too…I think? Two small examples but believe me I have more. Lots.

A gift page presented to Peter John Marshall, Catherine Marshall’s son featuring Catherine’s parent, Leonora and John Woods and the mission church/school.

From the 2011 ChristyFestraffle scrapbook featuring the character “Ruby Mae” played by Emily Schulman Webster.
And then there would be cake art…of course. I’ve bored you enough with that! Plus…
And even sword art, ceiling art and wood carving…
But now, we’re talking WAVE ART!!! Really? Yep. The artist/photographer is Clark Little and not only does he take fabulous pictures of the ocean’s wave creations aka God’s creations…he has to brave the elements to do so. Special sort of guy this Clark is! Take a look and then go visit his website. It is packed with photos that you won’t believe. I promise.
Oh and a brand new interview is here where Clark explains how he takes his photographs and you’ll see more beautiful Wave Art…actually is’ts God Art. Clark just snaps the pics!

That is an amazing picture! God’s art certainly is beautiful, way to capture it Clark!
You must go to his website. I could spend hours there!!
Unique and beautiful photography! I’m sorry to tell you that the Chihuly glass installation was a temporary exhibit….it came down Dec 31!
You’ll have to go to Oregon to his museum or watch for the next location for an installation. No telling when and where that might be.
Unique is right! Scary also. Rats. WE COULD HAVE GONE…if I had come to Big D a week earlier. Sigh. Well, I’ve always wanted to go to Oregon….
Well, correction…Chihuly is from Tacoma, Washinton…not Oregon! Don’t know what I was thinking. You can go to his website, www,chihuly.com to see newest installations. BTW, that is the most beautiful website to visit…be prepared to spend hours there!
Thanks…I’ll link to his website. I’ve been there and have the lost day to prove it!!
