On a serious note

Big Boss and I have been subscribed to Chuck Colson’s newsletter/blog/website, Breakpoint, for years.  What a voice for the Christian worldview!  I’m pretty sure we have every book the man has written and most of the dvd’s that he produced.  In the world of Christian apologetics there is Schaeffer then Colson followed closely by Ravi Zacharias.

So, upon Mr. Colson’s death this past April, I wondered what in the world we would do without his wisdom and leadership.  It seems that Breakpoint is continuing in the same vein that Colson founded it upon.  I am relieved!

In today’s article, Eric Metaxas pens a thought-provoking piece about the tactics of the pro-choice crowd, specifically concerning gender-selection abortions.  It chilled my blood right down to my toes.  Then I read the link to Ms Benedikt’s aritcle  and felt compelled to share this.  The last paragraph in her article reads,  “No matter how many ultrasound pics get posted to Facebook, these are fetuses with female genitals or male genitals—not little girls and little boys. If pro-choicers object to aborting because of the sex of the fetus, aren’t we then saying that abortion is ‘murdering’ girls? . . . That is not the case to make if your goal is to protect abortion rights. Gulp for a second if you must, then get over it.”

Where does this woman’s thinking come from?! The narcissism, coldness and downright evilness displayed in her article leaves me almost speechless.  Almost.

I don’t get on my soapbox often, but when I do…it’s serious.

Schaeffer saw this coming over 40 years ago.  All I can think of is 2 Chronicles 7:14  “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
