One less fruit tree slayer. One less fruit tree fruit stealer. One less fruit tree chomper/snacker/killer.
Oh and one less corn and milo destroyer.
Yeah I know what some of you are going to say. POOR BAMBI! No. It’s called population control/disease control.
Not to mention safety while innocently out taking a Sunday afternoon drive. Yes, us country people still do that. It’s called checking the fields…more of a business technique than and sight-seeing outing. Don’t get me wrong…it’s kind of a family tradition to drive the country roads Sundays with a freshly popped popcorn and some Cokes. If nothing else, it’s an opportunity to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the scenery. And make sure the irrigation pivot is still working and be certain that the corn IS coming up and check to see how the CRP fields are doing.
Thank you grandson #3 for this favor!! Now git out there and bag another one. Or three. (In case you’re wondering…in our state, this weekend is Youth Hunting. Not only does it teach them safety, but also brings some meat onto the dinner table AND makes their Meemaw immensely happy!! 🙂 Oh, and he made his very first touchdown yesterday. When asked why he didn’t make more, his answer was, “Well, I just got the ball once!” Good answer! So that makes him 1 for 1!!!!!!
