Just for my entertainment…and BHS alumni, I give you our school song, written by Dorothy McIntosh…the Brownwood High School acapella Choir performing The Alma Mater.

Please excuse one tiny skip…”state”…no idea why. Maybe someone has a record that is scratch-less???

Enjoy!

PS Amazingly, we sound GREAT!!! IMHO that is.

  1. Great harmony! You obviously went to a much larger school than PHS where I attended. NO school song. : (
We had about 200 kids from Freshman through Senior.

Thanks!! Harmony was our specialty. There were about 200 in my graduating class, so yeah. But the school our boys and their dad went to was smaller than yours! But even they had a school song…sad not to have one. We sang it at the early AM pep rally, at the end of choir on Fridays (game day), at the pep rally then at the game’s opening ceremonies. Whew!

I know! And then break into a rousing FIGHT SONG!!! You’re right tho…I haven’t meet many folks since who love their school song quite like we did/do. Would you believe the school here didn’t even use the song they had. I fixed that up. Hubs remembered it but very few who graduated after that did know it. It is sung to the same tune that HPU uses. Easy peasy.
